Asset Management
Asset Management in CloudHR follows a structured hierarchy:
Asset Category → Asset Type → Asset → Assignment
How It Works
- Create an Asset Category
- Add Asset Types inside the category
- Add individual Assets under a specific Asset Type
- Manage assignment through the Asset Requests tab
Hierarchy Structure
1️⃣ Asset Category
Top-level grouping of assets.
Examples:
- Laptops
- Mobile Devices
- Furniture
2️⃣ Asset Type
Sub-classification inside a category.
Example:
Category: Laptops
Types:
- MacBook Pro
- Dell Latitude
- HP EliteBook
3️⃣ Asset
The physical item owned by the organization.
Example:
- MacBook Pro – Asset ID: LAP-001
- MacBook Pro – Asset ID: LAP-002
4️⃣ Asset Requests
Controls assignment and tracking.
Why This Structure Matters
This design ensures:
- Clean separation of classification vs physical assets
- Easy reporting by category or type
- Controlled assignment lifecycle
- Scalable asset growth
